If you're agreeing to financially support someone coming to the U.S., the I-134 is where you put that promise on paper. Your answers and your financial records have to tell the same story.
The video above walks through a clean one, start to finish, using sample data.
A few things worth knowing before you start:
Don't have an A-Number or online account number? Don't force one in. Follow the instructions.
Every income and asset number should be backed by your financial records. If you can't show it, don't claim it.
The beneficiary's details should match their passport exactly. If you're supporting more than one person, check the instructions on whether each one needs a separate declaration.
You sign the printed copy in ink.
Check the current edition and fee at uscis.gov before you file. This is educational, not legal or financial advice. Full disclosure: FormVeritas, the app in the video, is ours.
Questions? Bring them to our K-1 & Spouse Immigration room here in the community.
Question for you: who in your family helped (or is helping) with the support side of your journey?
